Colors?

Here's a picture of my current color combo consideration. On the left is the Colinette Jitterbug Florentina colorway and on the right is Opal in a periwinkle color. The picture doesn't represent the true colors, but it's fairly close. And, there is a little bit of periwinkle color in the Florentina colorway.

I did a little ribbing swatch.

Could you give me your honest opinions about this color combination as a possibility for the gloves? Also, the Opal sock yarn is a bit thinner than the Jitterbug. I believe Karen said her yarn choices for her teal gloves were of different thicknesses, so hopefully this isn't a problem.

Kathy, how is your color choosing going today?

Thanks so much!

Shelly: can you set the swatch up on its bottom so we can see it better. You definitely have two highly contrasting colors. Only you can really decide if you like it, i might suggest the pattern itself in the lighter color to really pop it.

Hi Shelley,

The contrast looks good to me. As for my color choosing, it is not going anywhere right now. I am finishing up a sweater for CIC, and then will try to do some swatching for the gloves. I am back to considering combining STR with Opal again. ARRRGGHHH!!! So difficult!!

Thanks everyone!

I may reverse the order of which color is background and which is pattern....not sure which way to go yet. I'll try both ways as suggested by Abby. But, I think it will be these 2 colors, for sure.

And, the biggest plus is that both of these came from my stash! : )

I'm hoping my pattern arrives soon and then the real knitting will begin.

OK I wonder how we know which color to knit for the main color. I've never knit gloves before, nor have I ever knit with more than 1 color at a time. Any suggestions out there? I'm using Regia yarn and Lorna's laces. Sure hope I bought enough...

LOVE it
shame you don't have enuff to knit TWO pairs
you could do mirror images
that's the plan for ME
do 2 pair
have 4 pairs of gloves
can wear the mirror images as well as the specified pair
cathy - yeah ... i DO like to mix & match ...

I like the colors together. I am totally clueless as to what colors to use for mine. I want something eye popping but still conservaative.

I love the colors you chose together! Then again blues and purples tend to be my favorites.

I chose a Cherry Tree HIll blue multi and a Purl Gems red to make mine out of. I will watching the mail box. Today I finished a test knit dishcloth for Susan from Knit a little bit. Now I can get the monthly dishcloth KAL one going. ;-)

Had a lot to do in reguard to my parents again lately. I was just thinking it was going to settle down, fianlly. Oh well, such is life. =-)
