Cupcake Mitts

Hello Dear Knitterly People!

I just published another pattern if you are looking for a quick easy knit! The "Chocolate Covered Cherries" photo shows my daughter's Valentine's gift and I am using the "Twinkle Stars" mitt to teach knitters how to embroider and embellish their knitting. This pattern has two pages of photos showing embroidery techniques. Cross-crafting anyone? Available with my other designs at www.karendipity.etsy.com
This was a little break from color stranding (plus I needed some quick gifts), but I am working on a fair isle sock and on a steeking project/pattern and a top down saddle shoulder cardi and some toe up lace socks.....
And for those of you who are new to the glove knit-along, please don't forget to post your finished work in the "Hall of Fame". I am thrilled by all of the color selections and send my students there to browse your work for ideas!!!!

New Kid in Town

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself: I'm Kathy, I live near Washington, DC and this will be my first Fair Isle project. I'll post a photo of my yarn soon but I won't get started till next week probably ; I've got a little tutorial scheduled next Tues. Can't wait to see how this goes!

maybe i will start

So,

Karen has a headband pattern that she offered

to those of us that joined the KAL

well ..

i couldn't FIND the pattern

finally found it in an e-mail

so, i will start with the headband FIRST

to acquire a gauge

see if the sport will work

if not

will BUY more fingering

so i went to the Etsy to obtain the Mitts pattern

gotta have the FULL set

hehehehe

and found ANOTHER Headband pattern

WOW!!! Karen

you are really growing

had to JOIN Etsy

but i 'spose that won't be TOOO awfully bad

anyways ..

gotta finish the current SOX

then i can work on the purse

THEN i can start the headband

yeah .. yeah ..

it's SLOW progress

learned about the GLOVE pattern a year ago

so i am NOT too far behind

hehehehehehehe

42 degrees

i MAY need mitts & headband

THANX Abby & Karen for

starting this adventure

moving right along

Hi all -- I cast on my first glove last weekend and by Sunday evening was nearly to the big snowflake on the back of the hand.

I tried the described cast-ons, but those weren't working for me and I didn't feel like fiddling with it anymore, so I just did a single-color long tail cast-on and then added the second color when I did the braid beginning on the second row. I've been working a lot this week, so I haven't had much knitting time, but I expect to finish the snowflake/striped palm section this evening. Every member of my family had expressions like "Wow, that's gorgeous!" when they saw the glove-in-progress and each has requested a pair of their own. This is good because I was going to just get this pair underway and then stash it for vacation knitting on a trip in Feb., but since I can't seem to stop knitting them, I'll just go ahead with this pair knowing that I will have good reasons to make more!

More info about these gloves and other projects at my blog, Live and Let Learn!

Thanks for posting the pics of your beautiful gloves as inspiration and motivation.
