i think that the person was planning on

using the same yarns that

she used for the gloves

and graphs that Karen had in her pattern

it IS on my list of things to knit

yup ... i NEED to start the gloves

then knit the hat & a matching scarf

OTOH

i could knit the hat first

to get the guage & practice the technique

then i could knit the gloves
